Steve Kimock and Friends Featuring Bobby Lee Rodgers Fall 2008 Avails
Steve Kimock and Bobby Lee Rodgers met in May 2008 at Kimock's home in PA. After a few hours of jamming both could sense that something special could be happening. Steve Kimock is THE Jam guitarist on the circuit today having spent time as a founding member of the Bay area giants Zero and his next band KVHW and the original version of Steve Kimock and Friends. Over the past few years Steve has performed as a member of The Other Ones, Phil Lesh and Friends, Ratdog and the Mickey Hart band to name a few.
Bobby Lee Rodgers was a Berkeley School of Music Graduate instructor for 5 years and started the Codetalkers 8 years ago with southern jam pioneer Col. Bruce Hampton. This lead to gigs with Jimmy Herring in Herring, Rodgers and Sipe as well as a time as vocalist and guitarist for Aquarium Rescue Unit. With the guitar mastery of both of these seasoned veterans and the shared song contributions of both interpreted by Bobby Lee's vocals, anything could happen. Call us soon to book this amazing show

Diunna
Greenleaf, the Leader of Blue Mercy is a native Texan (Houston) who has a
background steeped in gospel music. Influenced by the likes
of Koko Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Rosetta Thorpe, Sam Cooke, Charles
Brown and her own parents Ben & Mary Ella Greenleaf (Gospel), she has
developed "Diunna's style of Blues" in the same tradition as
so many
other great Texas blues men and women. She combines intricate patches of
jazz, gospel and heartfelt soul to create a kind of blues that takes one on an

originally in 1998 by Jeff Mosier, Blueground Undergrass has developed
a solid reputation and nationwide following by playing its multi-faceted
music mix coast-to-coast. The band has always been known for exciting
performances and eclectic arrangements. Its sonic wall of twang
type sound pleases the whole spectrum of fans from hippies to cloggers
to rockers, taking Blueground Undergrass to the brink of almost
moshpit energy, yet guiding each show with song-driven clarity along

Blue Mountain Artists Congratulates PINETOP PERKINS 2008 Grammy Winner for Best Traditional Blues Album
LOS ANGELES (Reuters)
- Two bluesmen in their 90s won the
first Grammys of their colorful careers
on Sunday, a reminder that there's more
to the music industry than fresh-faced
youngsters.Pianist Willie "Pinetop" Perkins, 94, and guitarist David "Honeyboy" Edwards, 92, won the traditional blues Grammy for their appropriately titled album "Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen: Live in Dallas." They recorded the project with Henry James Townsend and Robert Lockwood Jr., who both died in 2006. Townsend, who was 96 when he died, was represented at the ceremony by his 21-year-old son, Alonzo. Perkins, a former sideman with Muddy Waters, was nominated in the traditional blues category with another album, "Pinetop Perkins on the '88's -- Live in Chicago." |
